September 14 – September 19, 2025

Here at Hog Island, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and safe space for everyone to enjoy birding and the outdoors. That’s why we are launching our first ever LGBTQIA++ birding session this summer! Come join us for a week of birding at the peak of fall migration on the coast of Maine surrounded by a safe and supportive community of fellow queer birders.

Throughout the week we will travel to birding hotspots around the mid-coast, explore Muscongus Bay by boat, and relax in the spruce-fir forest of Hog Island. You will venture to a diversity of habitats like marshes, meadows, forests, and rocky coastlines in search of a variety of migrating birds. Throughout the week, you will learn about the incredible feat of migration and bird conservation efforts from experts in the field. We hope you will leave camp feeling empowered to create safe birding spaces in your own community.
