Sponsor a Scholarship
Help Us Reach Our Goal: 90 Scholarships for the 90th Anniversary of Hog Island!
Would you like to offer a life-changing opportunity to a member of your Audubon chapter? Become a Hog Island Audubon Camp sponsor for the 2026 season and help us reach our goal of 90 scholarships for our 90th Anniversary! Since 1936, Hog Island has welcomed nature enthusiasts to its shores and inspired them to become conservation leaders in their own communities. With sessions for teens, families, birders, educators, artists, photographers and more there is something for everyone at Hog Island.
“Your support doesn’t just help someone attend a camp; it creates ripples of impact that extend far beyond the island’s shores.” - Darcy White, 2025 Sponsored Participant
Sponsoring a participant for a camp session is a great way to directly help support an individual and our program! Many organizations across the country currently sponsor participants every year. Participants who come to Hog Island earn an incredible opportunity to learn, build community with fellow birders, connect to nature, and walk away feeling inspired to protect birds and their habitats in their own communities.
We are so grateful to all our sponsors for helping us connect people to Hog Island. In 2025, our sponsors sent 60 people to camp! Thank you so much for all you do!
If you're interested in learning more about this opportunity, sign up for our Hog Island Sponsorship Q&A Session on October 22nd at 2 PM using this link.
          2026 Sponsorship Instructions

REGISTER HERE
PART ONE: Open October 20, 2025 through November 13, 2025
Follow these steps to secure spots for your participants before registration opens to the public. You can still register as a sponsor after this date, but we will not be able to guarantee a space in the session of your choice for your attendee(s). You do not need to know who your recipients are yet in order to hold their spots in camp sessions!
- Log In to CampDoc (or Sign Up if you are a new sponsor and do not have an account yet)
 - When asked for your name, please use the name of your organization as the ‘First Name’ and ‘Sponsor’ as the ‘Last Name’. (i.e. First Name: Hog Island Birding Club, Last Name: Sponsor). You will be asked to input a date of birth, so just put any random date you would like.
 - Select ‘Hog Island Audubon Camp’ when prompted to select an Audubon Center. Then select ‘Sponsorship’ when prompted to select a session.
 - Next you will be prompted to select the number of participants you are sponsoring and pay a nonrefundable $100 deposit for each person. You can pay with a credit card or bank account.
 - The next page will ask you about travel insurance which you can safely ignore for now. If you choose to purchase travel insurance for your participant through CampDoc, we can set that up later.
 - To actually complete your forms, navigate to the Health Profile on CampDoc.
 - Complete the form called “Sponsorship Information – Part 1”. This form will ask you for your contact information, the number of participants you are sponsoring, and which sessions you are choosing to send participants to. Make sure to answer every question, or you will keep getting reminder emails from CampDoc!
 - After you complete the form, I will contact you within 2-3 business days to confirm your registration.
 - After November 13 I cannot guarantee you a spot! Registration will open to the public on November 17, 2025. Please make sure all of the above steps are completed by November 13. If you wish to register as a sponsor after November 13th, you will need to send a written request to rosy.tucker@audubon.org

PART TWO: Open December 1, 2025 through March 13, 2026.
Follow these steps to provide us with information about your sponsorship recipients and finish registering them for camp!
- Log In to Camp Doc
 - Navigate to your Health Profile
 - Complete “Sponsorship Information – Part 2”. This form will ask you for the name, date of birth, and contact information for each of your participants. Please make sure to answer every question, or you will continue getting reminder emails from CampDoc!
 - If your participant is a minor, please provide the parent’s email address on the form.
 - Schedule a call with Rosy. We will have a nice chat on the phone! I will set up a CampDoc profile for your participant and you will pay the remaining tuition balance (less the $100 deposit) using a credit card. I will give you a receipt of the payment and remove the credit card information from the account. From there, your participant will be responsible for filling out their forms in CampDoc and will directly receive all further communications about camp.
 - After March 13th, any unpaid spots held by sponsors will be relinquished and made available to the public for registration.

2025 Testimonials from Sponsored Participants
“On this magical island, I DID learn ideas and collaborate with other birders in ways that will make my science/language units more vibrant and our school campus more bird-friendly. My students and my entire school WILL benefit from my experience and the connections that came from that. BUT- this experience changed ME as a human and thread in the tapestry of the natural world.” - Amy Talley, 2025 Sponsored Participant
“During camp I learned so much, I was able to relax and replenish, I met new friends who I will keep connected with forever, and I brought everything back with me to my place of work. I will cherish this opportunity forever and will use what I have learned to inspire the kids and adults that I interact with every day.” - Rachel Cherry, 2025 Sponsored Participant
“Enzo and I had one of the best weeks of our lives together and the scholarship from Canton Audubon Society made it possible. We both loved the variety of activities and the opportunity to see and learn about the Maine seacoast. Thanks for creating a week of memories that will last our lifetimes!” - Chuck McClaugherty, 2025 Sponsored Participant
“The Brookline Bird Club has sent 19 scholarship recipients to the Coastal Maine Bird Study for Teens program at National Audubon's camp at Hog Island, and we plan to send two more scholarship students to a 2026 camp. All our teen birders have had tremendous, sometimes transcendent experiences at Hog Island. We are proud to partner with Hog Island, and we consider these scholarships among our most important achievements as a bird club.” - John Nelson, Brookline Bird Club, 2025 Sponsor
“Presque Isle Audubon has been sponsoring local educators to attend Hog Island's "Sharing Nature: An Educators' Week" camp for several years now. Each year the teachers come back inspired and eager to engage their students with nature. Sponsoring a teacher has been the most effective use of our funds to fulfill our mission of connecting people to birds through education.” - Sue Murawski Presque Isle Audubon, 2025 Sponsor
