Hog Island 90th Anniversary Celebration

Hog Island Audubon Camp opened in 1936 with a singular vision – to teach people about nature conservation and inspire them to become leaders in the environmental movement in their own communities. Thousands of people have been touched by the magic of Hog Island over the years creating ripple effects that have been felt across the country. We are proud to be here today continuing the legacy of exceptional environmental education. 

There are a variety of ways for joining in the fun.

Hog Island 90th Anniversary Camp Session
August 20-23, 2026

A homecoming for the ages! This option is for campers who would like to stay on Hog Island for the full weekend celebration. This special camp session will be filled with all the classic Hog Island experiences and each element of the 90th celebrations. Registration for this event includes both the FOHI Appreciation Dinner and the Open House. See full session details. 

Friends of Hog Island Appreciation Dinner & Keynote Speaker
Friday August 21, 2026, 5pm – 9pm 

Join us as we say "Thank You" to the Friends of Hog Island (FOHI)! Each season, FOHI volunteers provide vital operational support that keeps Hog Island running smoothly. Guests will arrive at Hog Island in time for wine and appetizers before enjoying a classic Hog Island dinner. Following dinner, a special keynote address will be delivered in the Fish House. Stay tuned, the Keynote Speaker is TBA!

Shuttles to the island will be offered at 3PM, 4PM, and 5PM. Dinner will be served at 5:30PM. Return shuttles will be offered after dinner and following the keynote address. There are no overnight accommodations on the island available for dinner guests. Registration is required.

Hog Island 90th Open House
Saturday August 22, 2026, 9am – 4pm

Immerse yourself in an exciting day of workshops, activities, fellowship and fun on Hog Island. The celebration highlights all Hog Island has to offer. Led by expert instructors and staff, you can participate in art workshops, bird walks, intertidal exploration, talks on Wabanaki history and culture, history of Hog Island and Project Puffin, and more. The full schedule of events will be released in the spring for this famiy friendly event.

Shuttles to and from the island will run continuously throughout the day between 9 and 4.

Registration is required and includes the full day of programming and lunch on Hog Island.
